i was recently involved in the restoration of the Brixton windmill mural, Facebook link

artists involved –  Mr Cenz (coordinator), Aero, Tizer and Solo one from Positivearts.co.uk (community Mural specialists)

The Windmill mural, Lyham Road was originally painted by Mick Harrison and Caroline Thorp — 1983. the mural had become very faded by the elements over the years and was at risk of being lost . The mural tells the history of Brixton’s Windmill, the only inner city windmill still surviving in London.

the project was undertaken by Ruth from the London mural preservation society  , Vinnie from New leaf , Clapham film unit and Positivearts.co.uk

the mural restoration is part of a documentary the Clapham film unit is filming about London’s murals called ‘If walls could speak’
